Massive Drone Attack on Ukrainian Port City Leaves Thousands Without Power

Early on August 31, 2025, Russian forces conducted a massive drone attack on the Odesa region, specifically targeting the city of Chornomorsk, as confirmed by Oleg Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, reports 24brussels.

The strike severely damaged the region’s energy infrastructure, leading to over 29,000 households experiencing power outages. Restoration efforts have begun, with critical facilities operating on generators.

In addition to the energy impact, private homes and administrative buildings sustained damage, with several fires reported and promptly extinguished by emergency services.

Authorities report one injury resulting from the attack, and all relevant agencies are actively responding to mitigate the aftermath. Law enforcement is documenting yet another crime by Russian forces against the civilian population of Odesa.
