Russian Forces Advance in Donetsk Region

On October 11, 2025, Russian troops achieved significant gains in the Donetsk region, particularly in the Pokrovsk direction, including the tactical area of Dobropillia, reports 24brussels.

Geolocation videos released on the same day indicate that Russian forces have recently advanced southeast of Krasnyi Lyman, in the central part of Balahan, and the northern outskirts of Udayne.

Analysts also cite reports from Russian sources claiming that Russian troops have moved southeast of Hryshyne and have captured Kozatske.

In the Dobropillia frontline area, according to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Russian forces recently advanced south of Shakhove during an intensified mechanized offensive involving battalion-strength units. Ukrainian forces repelled this attack, which was launched from the direction of Ocheretyn, deploying 35 units of armored vehicles, including tanks.

Ukrainian military analyst Kostiantyn Mashovets believes that Russian forces are likely to make another attempt to completely displace the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the areas of Sofiivka, Volodymyrivka, Pankivka, and Shakhove. To that end, the aggressors have already begun significant regrouping of their forces.

Previously, it was reported that Russian troops had advanced in the Dnipropetrovsk region, capturing positions near two villages.
