Russian Forces Advance in Zaporizhzhia Region
On September 14, 2025, Russian troops achieved notable success in the western part of the Zaporizhzhia region, according to a report from the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW), reports 24brussels.
Researchers cited geolocation video evidence released on the same day, indicating that Russian forces have recently advanced into the eastern part of Stepnohiry, located west of Orikhiv.
In the eastern Zaporizhzhia region, ISW did not observe any Russian advancements. However, they referenced information from Russian military bloggers claiming that Russian troops have made progress west of Obratne and east of Novoiivanivka, as well as in the eastern part of the town.
Additionally, the Ukrainian information resource DeepState previously confirmed that Russian forces have occupied the village of Temyrivka in this area of the front.
ISW also reported a statement from a Russian officer denying assertions from Ukrainian sources regarding troop build-ups in the Zaporizhzhia region, claiming that Russian forces are only engaged in active defense rather than a large-scale offensive due to limited resources in this sector.
