Russian Forces Attempt to Secure Positions in Dnipropetrovsk Region

Two Russian infantry groups, consisting of eight and fifteen soldiers, entered the villages of Novogeorhiivka and Zaporizke in the Dnipropetrovsk region, as reported by the spokesperson for the Operational and Strategic Group of Forces “Dnipro,” Viktor Trehubov. The occupiers are attempting to establish a foothold in these settlements, reports 24brussels.

Trehubov noted, “They attempted to be expelled from there, and it seems they have not succeeded in consolidating their position, although they continue to make attempts.”

According to him, fighting is ongoing in the area. Trehubov expressed concern that the occupiers had reached the interior of these villages rather than merely on the outskirts.

The spokesperson highlighted that the main challenge for the Ukrainian Armed Forces is the significant number of personnel that Russia has concentrated and is deploying for assaults in small groups. Trehubov pointed out that Russian soldiers are trying to find gaps between Ukrainian strongholds.

He explained, “In this situation, they attempt not to capture these strongholds with their groups, but rather to bypass them and then consolidate behind them.”

Recently, DeepState reported that the Russian army had captured the two villages, Zaporizke and Novogeorhiivka. However, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces later denied the occupation of these localities.

Days before, it was reported that Ukrainian forces had “cleared” the village of Zelenyy Hay, located near the administrative border of Dnipropetrovsk region, from Russian troops. Ukrainian defenders have also regained control of a larger part of the village of Tovste in this area.
