Russian Forces Prepare for Offensive Actions Near Kharkiv

On September 17, 2025, the Russian occupying army is not currently conducting active assaults in the Kharkiv region; however, it is expected to initiate offensive operations soon, according to Andriy Nazarenko, commander of the drone battalion of the 72nd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Black Zaporizhzhia, reports 24brussels.

Nazarenko stated that Ukrainian forces are prepared for potential incursions. Defense forces are actively impeding the movement of the occupiers and striking their logistics to prevent them from gathering strength and launching offensives.

The military leader pointed out that Russia is attempting to deploy reconnaissance and sabotage groups to infiltrate behind Ukrainian lines, but these units are being promptly detected and eliminated by Ukrainian defense forces.

Since September 3, analysts have reported the presence of Russian soldiers on the outskirts of Kupiansk. Since then, the invaders have been making aggressive efforts to enter the city. According to reports, they have utilized the gas pipeline for troop movement. However, Ukrainian forces have successfully damaged and flooded this underground pipeline. Intense street fighting continues within the city against Russian diversionary groups.
