Russian forces press in on Ukrainian positions in Seredyna-Buda forest, risk of encirclement grows

Intensified Russian Offensive in the Serebryansky Forestry Region

Russian forces are making significant strides in the Serebryansky forestry, exploiting previous advances and the challenges faced by the Ukrainian armed forces (UAF). Ukrainian information platform DeepState recently updated its interactive maps to reflect these developments, reports 24brussels.

Observers note that small infantry groups predominantly operate in this section of the front, infiltrating deep into the territory, exerting constant pressure on Ukrainian positions, and seeking any opportunity to solidify their foothold.

There have been instances where UAF positions are only detectable through reports, while the enemy unexpectedly finds itself in the rear of areas occupied by drone operators or electronic warfare units.

The most precarious situation is currently unfolding in the forest along the northern bank of the Siverskyi Donets River, stretching from Hryhorivka to Dronivka. Here, the enemy can easily cut off access to the vicinity of Dronivka, creating adverse consequences for the UAF’s positions. There is hope that troops will be evacuated in time to avoid encirclement.

Currently, the enemy is striving to completely push Ukrainian units out of the Serebryansky forestry, aiming to conclude the longstanding battles over this area. The adversary is applying pressure towards Yampil and has been spotted near the Yampil-Zarichne road. The situation in Zarichne is also deteriorating for Ukrainian forces, as the enemy steadily advances into the populated area, making it increasingly difficult to dislodge them.

Previously, reports indicated that Russian troops had achieved success in the Serebryansky forestry and near Serebryanka on the Lyman front.
