FPV Drone Attack on Chief Rabbi’s Vehicle in Kherson
On the evening of July 17, a Russian FPV drone struck the vehicle of Chief Rabbi of Kherson, Yosef Wolf. This was reported by the Chief Rabbi of Ukraine, Moshe Reuven Asman, on social media.
“I just spoke with him on the phone. At the moment of the strike, the rabbi, his wife, and their young daughter were in the vehicle. The drone hit the car at a very high speed! Thank G-d they are unharmed! This is truly a great miracle!” Asman stated.
The incident occurred at the entrance to Kherson.

This was not the only incident involving Russian forces targeting civilians that day. A drone also attacked an ambulance responding to a call in the suburb of Kherson, Zymivnyk, as reported by Oleksandr Prokudin, the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration.
Two medics sustained injuries and were taken to the hospital. A 49-year-old paramedic and a 65-year-old paramedic were diagnosed with concussions and closed traumatic brain injuries, and they are in moderate condition.
It is worth noting that Russian forces continue to approach the islands of the Dnipro River and the right bank of the Kherson region, as stated by Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman Stanislav “Osman” Bunyatov. He noted on his Telegram channel that the Defense Forces are effectively neutralizing them, and that the enemy troops have not achieved success in that area.
However, FPV drones of various types remain a significant problem for defenders in the region and across the front. Russian troops consistently deploy drones in the direction of Chornobayivka, Muzykiivka, and the Klapaya community.
“The city and civilians are terrorized by all kinds of Russian weaponry. For entertainment, they even strike at dogs and cats with drones,” Bunyatov remarked.
