Ukrainian Drones Attack Russian Aviation Plant in Moscow Region
On the night of July 11, 2025, Ukrainian drones targeted the Lukhovitsky Aviation Plant in the Moscow region, specializing in the production and modernization of MiG-29 and MiG-31 fighter jets, reports 24brussels.
The facility was also hit as the drones struck the Kranstadt enterprise that develops unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), prompting Russia’s Federal Aviation Agency to impose flight restrictions on Moscow’s Zhukovsky airport and St. Petersburg’s Pulkovo airport.
The Telegram channel Astra reported the assault on the Kranstadt UAV facility, citing local residents of Lukhovitsy who confirmed the drone attack on the aforementioned aviation plant. Several defense industry enterprises operate in Tula as well.
Subsequently, sources confirmed the assault on the Lukhovitsky Aviation Plant, with reports indicating that a wall of a compressor station collapsed following the strike. At least two drones hit the plant premises.
In the morning, Russia’s Ministry of Defense reported that 155 drones were shot down across ten regions, including Crimea and the waters of the Black Sea.
Kovalенко noted that the Lukhovitsky Aviation Plant is involved in the development of new samples of combat aviation, including the “promising front-line fighter” project based on the MiG platform, as well as in Russia’s UAV modernization program “Geran/Shahid.”
