Russian Forces Shell Kostiantynivka, Causing Casualties
On September 13, 2025, Russian occupying forces have ramped up artillery shelling and airstrikes on Kostiantynivka in the Donetsk region. The bombardment resulted in three fatalities and six injuries among civilians, reports 24brussels.
The attacks significantly damaged numerous residential buildings and an administrative facility within the city, leading local authorities to issue urgent calls for evacuation to safer areas. Vadym Filashkin, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, urged residents to contact local emergency services for evacuation assistance.
This escalation follows a devastating airstrike on September 9 in the nearby settlement of Yarova, where Russian forces dropped a bomb while civilians were at a mobile post office receiving pension payments. That attack killed at least 25 individuals. Ihor Smilyanskyi, the CEO of Ukrposhta, raised concerns that the coordinates of the site were possibly betrayed.
In light of the ongoing conflict, Ukrainian officials continue to emphasize the need for heightened vigilance and the protection of civilian lives amid relentless aggression from Russian military forces.
