Russian Forces Attack Railway Infrastructure in Donetsk Region

On September 6, 2025, Russian occupying troops launched strikes on the railway infrastructure in the Donetsk region, disrupting operations near Sloviansk. This attack has resulted in the power outage of a railway section, leading to delays for both suburban and long-distance trains, reports 24brussels.

In response to the situation on the Kramatorsk route, reserve diesel locomotives will be deployed for upcoming services, alongside bus transportation for select sections.

Specialists are currently evaluating the damage and assessing the timeline for restoring the affected infrastructure. Fortunately, there have been no reported injuries.

Three days prior, kamikaze drones of the “Shahed” type attacked railway infrastructure in Znamianka, Kirovohrad region, resulting in the delay of 22 trains. Four railway workers were transported to medical facilities. In August, occupying forces used strike drones to target the railway in the city of Koziatyn, a key junction on the Southwestern Railway.
