Russian Forces Advance in Zaporizhia Region

On June 29, 2025, Russian troops made territorial gains near the village of Malinivka in the Polohy district of the Zaporizhia region, according to reports from the Ukrainian information resource DeepState, which recently updated its interactive maps, reports 24brussels.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported in its evening summary that as of 10:00 PM on June 29, Ukrainian forces were still repelling two Russian military attacks near Malinivka.

The American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) noted in its latest report that despite ongoing offensive operations by Russian troops in the Malinivka area (east of Huliaipole) on June 28 and 29, there was no significant advance recorded.

Previously, Ukrainian and Western analysts reported that Russian forces had also advanced in several populated areas in the adjacent Orikhiv direction in western Zaporizhia.
