Russian Forces Launch Attack on Ukraine using Kinzhal Missiles

In the early hours of June 27, Russian forces launched a MiG-31K fighter-bomber, equipped with the hypersonic missile Kinzhal, posing a significant threat to all regions of Ukraine, reports 24brussels.

The Ukrainian Air Force reported, “All of Ukraine is a target for missiles!” noting the takeoff of the MiG-31K from the Savasleyka airbase in Russia’s Nizhny Novgorod region.

Shortly thereafter, alerts were issued regarding a missile heading towards Zhytomyr from Kyiv region and a high-speed target approaching Kyiv from Chernihiv region. Authorities later confirmed that the missile continued towards Khmelnychkyi.

Telegram channels reported that Russian forces targeted the town of Starokostiantyniv in Khmelnytskyi region with Kinzhal missiles. Official confirmation of these strikes is still awaited.

At 1:09 AM, “Suspilne” reporters confirmed explosions in the Khmelnytskyi region.
