Two Dead in Chernivtsi Following Russian Drone Attack

On July 12, a Russian drone strike in Chernivtsi resulted in the deaths of two individuals: a 26-year-old woman and a 43-year-old man, reports 24brussels.

According to Ruslan Zaparanuyk, head of the Chernivtsi Regional Military Administration, the attack occurred at dawn, involving missiles and four Shahed drones.

Additionally, four residents sustained serious injuries, with medical teams currently fighting for their lives. One woman is reported to be in critical condition.

Ten other individuals suffered minor injuries and received on-site medical assistance.

The attack caused extensive damage to several residential buildings, shops, administrative structures, and vehicles in Chernivtsi.

Damage was also reported in the Storozhenets community, where a residential building and a car were hit by drone debris, fortunately resulting in no casualties.

Emergency services are actively working at the sites of impact.

At 8:27 AM, Zaparanuyk reported with regret that two critically injured victims had succumbed to their injuries in the hospital— a woman approximately 45 years old and a man around 65.

As of now, the death toll stands at four in Chernivtsi.

However, by 8:40 AM, Zaparanuyk clarified that the earlier reports about two additional fatalities were premature, stating, “Medical teams are still fighting for the lives of all critically injured!”

Thus, the confirmed number of fatalities currently remains at two.

Prior reports indicated that earlier on July 12, during a air attack on Lutsk, Russian forces almost completely destroyed a private residential house and damaged several others.
