Ukrainian Forces Destroy Russian Flag on Chernihiv Border
Ukrainian troops have successfully removed a Russian flag that was placed by occupying forces at the border near Chernihiv, reports 24brussels. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed this via their official Facebook page.
According to the General Staff, a sabotage and reconnaissance group of the Russian military erected the tricolor flag near the Gremyach crossing point, which is situated on the border between Russia and Ukraine in the Chernihiv region.
This provocative act by the occupiers was met with a timely response; Ukrainian border guards promptly detected the flag, and soldiers from the 15th Army Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine removed it. The visibility of Russian military presence in the Chernihiv region has thus been eliminated.
The General Staff indicates that the enemy occasionally resorts to such provocations in border areas with Ukraine for propaganda purposes. This instance is not the first time Russian forces have acted in this manner along this section of the state border.
Meanwhile, the General Staff assures that the situation in the border area between Ukraine and Russia remains under the control of defense forces.
Recent reports indicate that Russian forces have expanded their zone of invasion into the Kharkiv region, occupying several villages.
