In the early hours of July 5, a series of explosions occurred in the Russian city of Engels, located in the Saratov region, with initial reports suggesting a possible drone attack by Ukrainian forces. Approximately ten explosions were heard, with the strategic aviation airfield in Engels believed to be the target, reports 24brussels.

Saratov Governor Roman Busargin stated that residential buildings in Engels and Saratov were reportedly damaged by the blasts, and all emergency services are currently on the scene. There have been no reports of casualties at this time, and no further details have been provided by officials.
