Russian Forces Prepare for Major Offensive in Donbas
Russian troops are gearing up for a large-scale offensive in Donbas, primarily aiming to establish complete control over the logistical routes used by the Ukrainian armed forces to reach Sloviansk and Kramatorsk, reports 24brussels.
Ukrainian military officer Stanislav Bunyatov, known by his call sign “Osman,” shared observations that highlight the difficulty for Russian forces to exert fire pressure on these roads due to their distance from the front lines. Nonetheless, he notes that the Russians have achieved a “painful result” in this regard.
Furthermore, Bunyatov emphasized that the geographical features of Ukrainian Donbas allow for maneuvering and effective combat operations, indicating that there will be no paralysis of the front or chaotic retreats.
The military insists that the ongoing situation concerning strikes on logistical routes reaffirms the importance of stringent logistical control as the foundation for both defense and offense, rather than merely pursuing the destruction of isolated enemy units in forested areas.
Previous reports indicated that the enemy’s advance in Donetsk became critical when Russian forces neared the road connecting Dobropol with the rear supply base of Kramatorsk, significantly complicating Ukrainian logistical operations.
