Russian Forces Continue Assault on Shostka, Sumy Region
On July 19, 2025, Russian forces have been persistently attacking Shostka in the Sumy region for several hours. The head of the local State Administration, Oleg Hryhorov, reported around 08:00 that the invaders utilized strike drones to bombard the city for four hours. Unofficial sources indicate that approximately 40 UAVs were deployed in the assault, reports 24brussels.
“The enemy’s attack has caused damage to civilian infrastructure. There are also impacts on residential areas,” he posted on his Telegram channel. “Preliminarily, there have been no injuries,” he added.
However, the morning strikes did not conclude the assault. Various Telegram channels and regional media report that Russian forces continued their aggression with KABs. One source claims that six aerial bombs were launched, while unofficial reports suggest that around 15 KABs have already been used.
“Emergency rescue teams are on site. The extent of casualties and damages is being assessed,” commented the city mayor, Mykola Noga. “Please avoid open areas and stay in shelters.”
Earlier, DeepState reported that Russian troops extended their foothold in the Sumy direction by occupying the village of Yablunivka in the Yunakiv community. Observers have noted the aggressors’ advancements near Yunakivka itself.
