Security Operations in Kyiv’s Desnianskyi District Aim to Prevent Terrorism

On July 29, 2025, the National Police of Ukraine and the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) conducted security operations in Kyiv’s Desnianskyi district to enhance counter-diversion protection at mass gathering sites, reports 24brussels.

The security measures included:

  • Inspection of specific buildings, areas, and premises (offices and public service establishments) to identify prohibited items and verification of individuals in the vicinity;
  • Assessment of the anti-terrorism security status of local facilities.

The SBU warned of potential traffic and access restrictions in the area and emphasized the importance of citizens carrying identification documents during the operations, which may include vehicle checks.

Earlier today, the SBU thwarted a planned assassination of Commander Serhiy Filimonov of the 108th separate battalion “Wolves Da Vinci,” which was being organized by Russian operatives. For this operation, the Russian FSB had enlisted a resident of Dnipropetrovsk region under the guise of working with the SBU.
