Ukraine Conducts Over 550 Weapon Tests Amid Ongoing Conflict

Ukrainian defense manufacturers conducted more than 550 tests of new military equipment at the “Iron Polygon” over the past year. According to the Ministry of Defense, producers submitted nearly 750 applications for testing during this period, reports 24brussels.

The testing occurs on modern specialized sites equipped with necessary technology, including the creation of jamming conditions and other scenarios that emulate combat environments.

“This is a fast and effective conduit between ideas and the front lines. Manufacturers receive valuable feedback from military personnel about their weapon samples immediately. The faster we test and launch new solutions into production, the quicker they reach the Defense Forces,” stated Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Hvozdyar.

Access to the polygon’s services is free for all defense industry manufacturers, allowing each company to utilize the testing facilities multiple times throughout the product development process.

Ukraine requires significant funding for weapon production this year, with preliminary estimates suggesting a need for six billion dollars. This amount was discussed by Deputy Defense Minister Serhiy Boyev during a meeting with Gediminas Navickas, Deputy Head of the European Union Delegation to Ukraine, according to the Ministry of Defense’s press service.

This week, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Ukraine has successfully tested the “Flamingo” missile, which boasts a range of three thousand kilometers. He added that more missiles should be operational in Ukraine by December, with plans for mass production underway this winter.
