Ukraine to Receive Two Patriot Air Defense Systems This Fall
On October 10, 2025, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced during a press briefing that Ukraine will acquire two Patriot air defense systems this fall, reports 24brussels.
Zelensky emphasized the urgency of this acquisition, citing Russia’s increased production of ballistic missiles as a primary concern. “Our priority is Patriot. We will receive two systems this fall. This is not the large package promised by the U.S. President, but work is ongoing,” he stated.
Furthermore, a Ukrainian delegation, led by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, will visit the United States next week to negotiate an expansion of arms supplies. Zelensky noted that during these discussions, the parties intend to address issues related to air defense, energy, sanctions, and the status of frozen Russian assets.
Additionally, Ukraine is anticipating a decision regarding the use of frozen Russian assets for defense against aggression and recovery efforts within the country. “We see positive signals about releasing these funds. I spoke this morning with ECB President Christine Lagarde,” he added.
Zelensky previously indicated that negotiations in the U.S. would also cover topics such as air defense, energy needs, sanction strategies, and the diplomatic track concerning frozen Russian assets.
