Ukrainian Authorities Identify 22 Officials Linked to Torture in Donetsk Colony

On October 11, 2025, investigators from the National Police, in collaboration with the Chief Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, identified and charged 22 employees of the “Kalynivska Correctional Colony” in the temporarily occupied Donetsk region. These officials have been implicated in the torture of Ukrainian prisoners of war and civilians, reports 24brussels.

According to intelligence reports, these employees transitioned to support the occupying forces in 2014 and have systematically inflicted prolonged physical abuse and psychological pressure on unlawfully detained Ukrainians, while also degrading their dignity and honor.

Among those identified as perpetrators are self-proclaimed “operational unit heads,” “assistant wardens,” “military unit commanders,” and “junior security inspectors.”

The National Police, with the aid of the Chief Intelligence Directorate, indicated that these suspects face charges for committing war crimes under Article 438, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The evidence gathered may be forwarded to the International Criminal Court for further proceedings.

Authorities emphasized that all individuals responsible for crimes against the Ukrainian people will be held accountable.

Previously, it was reported that the National Police, in cooperation with the Chief Intelligence Directorate, identified two terrorists from the fake “MGB of the DPR,” accused of torture and sexual violence against a local resident in Donetsk. These included a so-called “head of anti-terrorism department” and an “investigator” from the pro-Kremlin terrorist group “DPR.”
