Ukrainian Drones Target Russian ‘Energia’ Plant in Lipetsk Region

On July 3, 2025, Ukrainian drone strikes targeted the ‘Energia’ facility in Russia’s Lipetsk region, over 300 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. Explosions were reported at the site during the night, according to statements from the Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff, reports 24brussels.

The plant specializes in the serial production of batteries for the Iskander-M missile systems and Kh-35U missiles, as well as for universal planning and correction modules. The General Staff explained that Russian forces are modifying free-fall aerial bombs into guided munitions for improved range and accuracy.

Currently, production at this military facility has been halted.

This is not the first incident involving the ‘Energia’ plant; it was previously attacked by Ukrainian Special Operations Forces on May 23, 2025. Satellite images from Planet Labs revealed significant damage to one of the facility’s buildings.
