Ukraine’s Armed Forces Transition to New MM-25 Camouflage

On August 3, 2025, Ukraine’s Armed Forces announced plans to transition to a new type of camouflage, the MM-25, which will gradually replace the current MM-14 pattern, commonly known as “pixel.” This decision has been approved by the Central Development and Material Support Department, reports 24brussels.

While the official image of the new uniform has not yet been released, sources indicate that the MM-25 is an adapted version of the American Multicam pattern, which is actively used by NATO forces.

The timeline for the mass transition to the new uniform remains unclear. Given the size of the Ukrainian military, the equipment update may take several years. Details regarding when the first batches of the MM-25 will be delivered to units have not yet been specified.

In parallel, it has been reported that the United States and NATO have signed an agreement that allows European countries to purchase American weapons for Ukraine, amounting to up to $10 billion. Under the terms of the agreement, member states will transfer arms from their own stockpiles to Kyiv and then receive compensation from the U.S. NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte stated that Ukraine will receive significant volumes of air defense systems, missiles, and ammunition.

According to Ukrainian legislation, wearing military uniforms or specific elements by unauthorized individuals constitutes an administrative offense, subject to fines and confiscation of the clothing.

Even the use of clothing with distinctive military patterns, such as pixel-style t-shirts, can be considered a violation if it may mislead others regarding a person’s affiliation with the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Previously, it was reported that Ukraine is preparing for the full integration of its Air Force with NATO structures. President Zelensky announced new steps towards aviation modernization.
