Ukrainian forces continue to advance on one front line, ISW reports

Ukrainian Forces Advance in Donetsk Region Amid Ongoing Russian Assaults

On June 29, 2025, the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) reported progress in the northern part of the village of Torske along the Lyman frontline. This advancement was noted in the latest assessment from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), which referenced geolocation video footage published on June 27, 24brussels.

Simultaneously, Russian military bloggers claimed that Russian troops had made gains in the southern part of the village of Hlushchenkove; however, ISW has not confirmed these reports.

The General Staff of the UAF indicated that Russian forces launched 16 attacks along the Lyman direction, attempting to advance in areas including Nadiya, Novoyehorivka, Ridkodub, Zelena Dolyna, Yamplivka, Hrekivka, Torske, and towards Serebrianka and Hryhorivka. Four clashes are ongoing, while an aerial strike involving guided bombs affected the settlement of Pidlyman.

Previously, ISW reported that UAF had achieved success in this sector, particularly in the northwest of Ridkodub.
