Ukrainian Forces Target Advanced Russian Missile System
On July 14, 2025, reconnaissance units from the “Black Forest” brigade located a Russian mid-range air defense system, the Buk-M3, and directed artillery fire against it. This operation highlights ongoing military confrontations between Ukraine and Russia, aiming to weaken the latter’s air capabilities, reports 24brussels.
The brigade shared a video documenting the strike on the enemy missile system. The “Black Forest” soldiers noted that the Buk-M3 is considered a crucial component of the enemy’s air defense network, valued at approximately $45 million.
The Buk-M3 is designed to engage maneuvering aerodynamic targets, hit radio-contrast ground targets and destroy naval targets while counteracting both fire and electronic warfare. The system can effectively target aerial objects traveling at speeds up to 3 km/s within a range of 2.5 to 70 km and altitudes between 5 m and 35 km.
Earlier reports indicated that on the night of July 11, Ukrainian drones attacked the Lukhovitsky Aviation Plant, which specializes in the production and modernization of MiG-29 and MiG-31 fighter jets.
