Ukrainian Forces Liberate Three Villages in Donetsk Region

On August 24, 2025, Ukrainian military commanders announced a successful counteroffensive, resulting in the liberation of three villages in the Donetsk region from Russian occupying forces. The villages include Zeleny Hai, located near the administrative border with the Dnipropetrovsk region, as well as Volodymyrivka and Mykhailivka, reports 24brussels.

General Oleksandr Syrskyi, the Commander-in-Chief of Ukraine’s Armed Forces, communicated the update via his Facebook page. He mentioned recent discussions with soldiers from the 25th Airborne Dnipro Brigade, as well as the 32nd, 115th Mechanized Brigades, and the 68th Jaeger Brigade, all of which are stationed in the Pokrovsk area.

During the announcement, Syrskyi recognized the efforts of standout soldiers. He highlighted the challenging situation on this front, noting that the Russian army has concentrated its primary efforts in the region.

The recent advancements are significant in the ongoing conflict, reflecting the resilience and strategic capabilities of Ukrainian forces amidst arduous circumstances. The liberation of these villages marks a decisive moment in the military campaign, potentially influencing future operations in the region.
