Ukrainian Forces Regain Control Over Zeleny Hay Village in Donetsk Region

On August 23, 2025, Ukrainian troops successfully regained control over the village of Zeleny Hay in the Donetsk region, near the Dnipropetrovsk border, reports 24brussels.

The 37th Separate Marine Brigade, alongside the 214th Separate Assault Battalion OPFOR, halted enemy advances and established control over the settlement.

“As of today, the enemy continues active attempts to reclaim this locality and occupy the remaining settlements in Donetsk region along this frontline. However, our soldiers stand steadfast, and on Ukraine’s State Flag Day, Zeleny Hay remains under the blue and yellow banner,” stated the operational command “Dnipr”.

Previously, troops from the 5th Separate Heavy Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine succeeded in regaining control over a significant portion of the neighboring village of Tovste.

In early August, special forces from the Main Intelligence Directorate eliminated Russian occupiers who hastily reported their capture of Zeleny Hay to their command. The Russians found themselves in a zone of responsibility belonging to the “Brotherhood” unit within the “Timur Special Unit.”
