Ukraine Launches New Robotic Ground Complex for Military Operations

On June 29, 2025, Ukraine announced the introduction of the “Muraha” robotic ground complex, designed to support military units in challenging environments. This development has been authorized for use by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, reports 24brussels.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense confirmed that the “Muraha” has been codified and approved for operational use. This wheeled robotic complex aims to assist troops in combat zones, particularly under enemy fire and in heavily mined areas.

Weighing over half a ton, the “Muraha” stands out for its significant payload capacity, enabling it to transport heavy loads over considerable distances. Its versatile control channels allow the complex to operate effectively in areas affected by hostile electronic warfare systems. Additionally, it has been designed to navigate difficult terrain and overcome minor water obstacles.

Despite advances, the current generation of ground robotic complexes cannot replace infantry personnel. According to volunteer and project leader Maria Berlinska, head of the technological support initiative for Ukraine’s security and defense forces, the role of robotic systems is expected to increase over time. “Can robotic complexes replace infantry as of 2025? No, they cannot. It is a comforting fairy tale to believe we can replace all soldiers on the front lines with drones and defend from Kyiv. However, in the long run, the importance of robotic systems will grow,” Berlinska noted.

“Overall, we are heading towards more autonomous robots, including naval, aerial, and ground systems, all managed by a unified operational control system. This is the future,” she emphasized.
