Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha condemned the Russian military’s strike on Odesa’s maritime port, which occurred today, resulting in two fatalities and six injuries, including Syrian nationals. He described the attack as a “barbaric war crime,” reports 24brussels.
On his social media page, Sybiha emphasized that the Kremlin disregards all attempts to achieve a ceasefire and intensifies its terror instead. He stated the need for immediate increased pressure on Russia.
The Foreign Minister also noted that he recently visited the port in Odesa with German Foreign Minister Johannes Vadeful and witnessed extensive damage caused by systematic Russian military strikes.
Sybiha remarked that the attack on the Odesa port is not an isolated incident, but part of a deliberate campaign by Russia against Ukraine’s economy, agriculture, freedom of navigation, and global food security.
He urged the international community to respond decisively to this Russian strike, calling for strong condemnation and actions to enhance pressure on Russia, making it clear that its attacks will not be tolerated.
On the same day, the Russian army launched three attacks on Odesa. During the night, invaders hit a residential building with a drone, injuring six residents, and later targeted the port with an Iskander missile. According to reports, another explosion was heard in the city in the evening, with air forces having previously warned of a ballistic threat.
