Ukrainian Armed Forces Deny Reports of Russian Occupation in Dnipropetrovsk Region
The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has refuted claims regarding the Russian occupation of the villages of Novohrihiivka and Zaporizke in the Dnipropetrovsk region, located near the border with Donetsk. According to the military’s statement on Telegram, Ukrainian defense forces successfully halted the advance of Russian troops, reports 24brussels.
The statement emphasized, “Regarding the operational situation at the border of Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions, information regarding the occupation of both settlements by Russians is not true.”
The General Staff clarified that despite Russia’s relentless efforts, Ukrainian defense forces are maintaining control over Zaporizke, while intense fighting continues around Novohrihiivka.
“Our soldiers are inflicting significant losses on the enemy, destroying dozens of occupiers daily,” the General Staff stated.
Previously, the operational-strategic grouping of troops “Dnipro” reported the restoration of control over the village of Zeleny Hai, located close to the administrative border of the Dnipropetrovsk region. Later, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi announced that Ukrainian defenders have successfully counterattacked, reclaiming the villages of Volodymyrivka and Mykhailivka as well.
