Ukrainian Forces Advance Towards Chasiv Yar Amid Ongoing Clashes
On June 30, 2025, Ukrainian troops have recently advanced towards the town of Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region, according to the latest report from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW). It was noted that geolocation data released on June 28 and 29 indicates that Ukrainian forces have secured positions in the central area of Chasiv Yar and the southeast of Biała Góra, which is located south of the town, reports 24brussels.
In response, Russian forces have conducted offensive operations near Chasiv Yar and to the south of the town in the vicinity of Stupochky and towards Biała Góra. This escalation highlights the intensity of the ongoing conflict in the region.
The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces confirmed in their evening update that defense forces have successfully halted two attempts by enemy troops to advance in the Chasiv Yar area.
Earlier reports indicated that Russia’s summer offensive, which has been ongoing for only a few weeks, is showing signs of failure despite a record number of attacks across multiple fronts. As the situation develops, both sides remain engaged in fierce combat as they vie for territorial control in this critical region.
