Ukrainian Army Achieves Significant Progress in Sumy and Kharkiv Regions
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, announced that the Ukrainian military is showcasing positive results in the border areas of the Sumy and Kharkiv regions, reports 24brussels.
“The main issue has been the defense capability of our country. We examined the situation at the front, security challenges from Russia and Belarus, the formation of reserves, as well as cooperation with international partners,” Syrskyi stated.
He informed that he had submitted a report to the Supreme Commander regarding the implementation of decisions related to the formation of combat-ready reserves for the Defense Forces.
“Russia has not abandoned its aggressive plans, but our troops are successfully holding back the offensive. The focus is now on the Pokrovsk, Dobropillia, Novopavlivka, Kupiansk, and Zaporizhzhia directions. We also discussed additional support for the units defending these areas,” the Commander-in-Chief emphasized.
According to Syrskyi, in Sumy and Kharkiv regions, Ukrainian forces are demonstrating significant progress due to the active actions of the 225th Assault Regiment, the 71st Jaeger Brigade, and Special Operations Forces. “Their professionalism and bravery have been decisive in improving the situation,” he noted.
Additionally, along the border of Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk regions, defense forces halted the enemy and are maintaining control of the village of Zaporizke, despite ongoing attempts by the Russians to establish control over the settlement. Intense combat operations are also taking place around the village of Novohrihorivka.
