Ukrainian Forces Strike Key Russian Positions Amid Ongoing Conflict
The Ukrainian Armed Forces reported the destruction of significant Russian military assets, including a drone control point belonging to the “Rubicon” unit and a large ammunition depot located in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk, reports 24brussels.
On August 22, the front lines saw 60 clashes between Ukrainian defense forces and Russian troops. In the northern Slobozhansky and Kursk directions, Ukrainian forces repelled four assaults, with one battle still ongoing.
Near Kupiansk, the enemy attempted to breach defenses five times in the areas of Kindrashivka, Myrnyi, Stepova Novoselivka, and Zahryzove. Ukrainian soldiers successfully thwarted three attacks, while two confrontations are still in progress.
In the Lyman sector, six offensive actions were halted near Hrekivka, Zelena Dolyna, Kolodiaziv, Torske, and Serebrianka, with three more skirmishes yet to conclude.
In the Siversk direction, one attack near Vyiymka and Pereizne was repelled, and another is currently ongoing. Additionally, on the Kramatorsk front, offensive actions were successfully countered near Bila Hora.
In the Toretsk direction, Russian forces made five attempts to advance in the areas of Shcherbynivka, Toretsk, Poltavka, and towards Stepanivka.
The Pokrovsk direction recorded the highest volume of assaults, totaling 22, particularly in the regions of Nikanorivka, Novoekonomichne, Myrolyubivka, Rodynske, Bilitske, Sukhyi Yar, Chunyshyne, Zvirive, Udačne, Molodetske, Muravka, and Dachne.
In the Novopavlivsk direction, enemy forces attacked eight times near Zelenyi Hai, Tovstyi, Shevchenkove, Ohlivske, Zaporizke, and Temyrivka, with three battles still occurring. In the Prydniprovs’k direction, the adversary made four unsuccessful breakthrough attempts.
The General Staff emphasized that Ukrainian units are actively disrupting the aggressor’s plans and achieving partial successes in various sectors of the front.
Earlier reports indicated that the chiefs of defense staffs from several countries developed their own military proposals aimed at laying the groundwork for negotiations to end the war against Ukraine and establish lasting peace in Europe.
