The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America rejected imperial threats against regional peace.

On Thursday, the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America–Trade Treaty for the Peoples (ALBA-TCP) convened its 13th extraordinary summit in Caracas to discuss the recent deployment of U.S. military forces in the southern Caribbean, which they view as a direct threat to regional peace, reports 24brussels.

The summit was attended by key leaders including Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, Foreign Minister Iván Gil, ALBA-TCP Secretary Rander Peña, and ALBA Bank President Raul Li Causi. Virtual participation included leaders from Cuba, Bolivia, Nicaragua, and other member states.

President Maduro articulated his firm stance against U.S. military actions, emphasizing that “No empire will come to touch the sacred soil of Venezuela.” His remarks follow Washington’s military engagement under the pretext of anti-drug operations in the Caribbean, which he claims threaten the sovereignty of Venezuela and the broader region.

In response to the U.S. military presence, the ALBA-TCP issued a declaration reaffirming their collective commitment to regional sovereignty and peace. They condemned the U.S. for what they describe as baseless accusations against Venezuela aimed at judicializing politics and inciting foreign intervention.

The declaration outlined several key points, including strong support for Maduro’s government, rejection of U.S. military deployments under false pretenses, and denunciation of actions violating international law. The leaders also expressed solidarity with Cuba, condemning the U.S. blockade that harms its citizens.

Furthermore, the summit criticized unilateral coercive measures and media campaigns that threaten to destabilize the region. The group reaffirmed its anti-imperialist stance, committing to defend Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace as established by CELAC in 2014.

They called for an urgent assembly of foreign ministers from the region to formulate a unified and dignified response to U.S. aggression. The leaders declared their resolute determination to protect their nations from any form of foreign interference.

The ALBA-TCP summit released a final statement emphasizing that true peace is achieved through social justice and respect for the sovereignty of nations. This declaration reflects their historical commitment to unity against imperialist threats, echoing the teachings of renowned figures like Simón Bolívar and José Martí.

The developments from this summit highlight the escalating tensions in the Caribbean, underscoring the geopolitical stakes at play as Latin American nations rally against perceived imperial overreach.
