ALBA-TCP Calls for Support of Palestinian Statehood Ahead of UN General Assembly

On September 23, 2025, the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America — People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) publicly endorsed the growing recognition of the State of Palestine, deeming this momentous development essential for achieving a two-state solution, reports 24brussels.

In its statement, ALBA-TCP lauded the international acknowledgment of Palestine as a crucial step toward securing the Palestinian people’s right to establish an independent and sovereign state within pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem designated as its capital. The bloc emphasized that this recognition is not merely a political maneuver but a moral and legal obligation vital for regional and global peace and security.

ALBA-TCP underscored the necessity for the international community to adopt concrete measures that would facilitate a lasting ceasefire, ensure the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, and safeguard the fundamental rights of the Palestinian people. The alliance also expressed strong support for diplomatic initiatives aimed at promoting Palestinian self-determination and rejected any actions perceived as obstructing a just political resolution.

Concluding its statement, ALBA-TCP reiterated its confidence in the legitimacy of the Palestinian cause, proclaiming, “Palestine will win!” Currently, 152 countries have formally recognized the Palestinian state, with an additional 12 nations making this declaration in recent hours.

As the UN General Assembly convenes this week, world leaders have moved to recognize Palestinian statehood, striving to revive discussions surrounding the two-state solution and push for an end to hostilities in Gaza. Notably, Israel and the United States declined to attend a pre-summit designed to address these pressing issues.
