“Big project with Indian government,” German Envoy lauds German project’s success in agricultural sector
German Ambassador to India, Philipp Ackermann, announced plans to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of Indian farming techniques during his recent trip to Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, reports 24brussels. Ackermann met with Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to discuss the successful collaborations in agriculture between Germany and India.
Ackermann emphasized the importance of agriculture and stated that Germany is actively supporting initiatives aimed at making farming more efficient. He mentioned ongoing programs encouraging farmers to adopt natural farming practices to enhance productivity. “That’s a big project we are doing together with the Indian government, and as far as I know, this project has been very successful so far,” he commented.
During his visit, Ackermann conducted an inspection of German agricultural projects in Kadapa district, reflecting his commitment to understanding local agricultural initiatives. He indicated that further discussions with local government officials were vital and expressed eagerness to return to Andhra Pradesh to explore other regions, including Visakhapatnam, where German projects are underway.
“I wanted to come to Andhra to meet the local Government because I feel this is a very important state. It’s a powerhouse of India, and it’s important to know what’s going on in Andhra. I’m very impressed with what I’ve seen and what I’ve felt so far,” Ackermann stated, adding that his visit would provide valuable insights for reporting back to Germany.
