EAM Jaishankar wishes Spain on National Day

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar extended greetings to Spain on its National Day, highlighting the significance of strengthened bilateral cooperation. In a message posted on X, he stated, “Best wishes to FM Jose Manuel Albares, the Government and the people of Spain on their National Day. Value the deepening of our multifaceted cooperation,” reports 24brussels.

In a related development, the Madhya Pradesh government signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Spain’s Fira Barcelona International to establish a convention centre that meets international standards. The MoU was formalized during a ceremony at the Kushabhau Thakre International Convention Centre in Bhopal, attended by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Tuesday.

The new convention centre is expected to serve as a venue for global events and investment conferences, following discussions that took place during CM Yadav’s visit to Spain in July. The initiative aims to draw international attention to Madhya Pradesh, showcasing opportunities in sectors like smart urban solutions and technology.

Ambassador Juan Antonio March Pujol, Fira Barcelona International CEO Richard Zapatero, and the institution’s India representative Mukesh Arora participated in the signing ceremony. The Madhya Pradesh government envisions this centre as a significant asset for enhancing its identity on a global scale, aiming to attract top industrialists and investors, thereby integrating into the international business network.

This initiative is projected to open new avenues for industrial growth and investment, positioning Madhya Pradesh as a host for global dialogues, conventions, and exhibitions. As a result, the region is set to gain enhanced visibility and recognition on the world stage.
