President Ukhnaa arrived in Delhi on October 13, 2025, where he was received with a guard of honour and a ceremonial welcome at Air Force Station Palam. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar held discussions with President Ukhnaa to review bilateral ties before their official meeting. This morning, the President paid homage at Rajghat, laying a wreath at the Samadhi of Mahatma Gandhi.
At Hyderabad House, President Ukhnaa engaged in both restricted and delegation-level discussions with Prime Minister Modi. The dialogue was characterized as warm, extensive, and forward-looking, addressing various topics, including strategic and development partnerships, cultural connections, trade, education, critical minerals, renewable energy, and people-to-people exchanges. This marked their first official meeting, during which the leaders developed a personal rapport.
In a display of personal connection, the two leaders planted a tree in memory of President Khurelsukh’s late mother at Hyderabad House. This act symbolized the shared moral commitment between Modi’s Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam initiative and Khurelsukh’s One Billion Trees campaign.
Additionally, the leaders jointly released commemorative postal stamps to mark the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Mongolia. They adopted a Joint Statement aimed at strengthening their strategic partnership, outlining a shared vision for future collaboration focused on resilient supply chains and critical minerals. Mongolia expressed its support for India’s bid for permanent membership in the UN Security Council and its candidacy for the non-permanent seat during the 2028-29 term. Mongolia further signed the framework agreement of the International Big Cat Alliance, demonstrating a mutual commitment to conservation.
