Mongolia and India strengthen ties with focus on strategic partnership and cooperation

‘India-Mongolia partnership going on very well; have many strategic projects underway’: Deputy PM Amarsaikhan Sainbuyan

The Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia, Amarsaikhan Sainbuyan, praised the strong ties between India and Mongolia, expressing optimism for expanding cooperation across various sectors, reports 24brussels. He highlighted the significance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 2015 visit to Mongolia, marking the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations, and noted that the President of Mongolia is currently visiting India to celebrate the 70th anniversary of their diplomatic relationship.

During a media interaction, Sainbuyan stated, “The Indian-Mongolian relationship has been going on very well, and we have a strategic partnership agreement. We have many strategic projects already underway and we look forward to expanding our trade, economic, cultural, educational, and also humanitarian cooperation with India.” This sentiment reflects a commitment to enhancing multifaceted bilateral ties.

The Ministry of External Affairs of India confirmed that Prime Minister Modi addressed a wide array of bilateral issues during discussions with President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa. Official Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal indicated both nations agree to deepen collaboration across defense, security, trade, investment, development cooperation, and cultural ties.

In a post on X, the Ministry stated, “Advancing the India-Mongolia Strategic Partnership: PM Narendra Modi held extensive discussions with President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa covering the entire gamut of India-Mongolia bilateral relations. Both leaders agreed to further deepen defense and security, trade and investment, development cooperation, and capacity building and spiritual and cultural ties.” Additionally, both leaders unveiled a postage stamp commemorating 70 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa is currently on a four-day state visit to India from October 13 to 16, marking the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations and the 10th anniversary of their strategic partnership.
