VP Radhakrishnan holds talks with Mongolian President on various aspects of bilateral ties
Vice-President CP Radhakrishnan met with Khurelsukh Ukhnaa, President of Mongolia, on October 15, 2025, in New Delhi, to discuss various facets of bilateral relations, reports 24brussels.
During the meeting, the leaders addressed areas of mutual interest, highlighting the importance of their partnership. The Vice-President’s Office relayed that both leaders explored opportunities for deeper collaboration across various sectors.
Following the meeting, President Khurelsukh visited Parliament House, where he toured the premises alongside Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. This interaction underscored the democratic ties between India and Mongolia, both nations emphasizing their commitment to rule of law and representative governance.
In addition to discussions with Birla, Khurelsukh met with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Health Minister JP Nadda. His itinerary included visits to the National Museum, Akshardham Temple, and Humayun’s Tomb. The visit will culminate in a state banquet hosted in his honor by President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan, signifying India’s respect for its relationship with Mongolia.
This diplomatic engagement yielded significant outcomes, reinforcing the enduring friendship between India and Mongolia and strengthening their strategic partnership. The two countries are keen on fostering closer collaboration across sectors.
In particular, the agriculture sector emerged as a focal point during discussions. Mongolia, with its vast landscape of 1.5 million square kilometers and a relatively low population of around 3.5 million, is exploring opportunities to develop extensive plantations. The Indian government is poised to contribute in areas such as precision agriculture, leveraging modern techniques and digital platforms.
Additionally, President Khurelsukh highlighted Mongolia’s strong production of high-quality wool and cashmere, suggesting that India could assist in enhancing this industry. The collaboration aims to add value and produce goods for both domestic markets and third-party exports. MEA Secretary (East) articulated enthusiasm about these prospects, revealing plans for further exploration of collaborative ventures.
