Antifascist International Condemns U.S. Accusations Against Venezuela, Warns of Military Threats

On August 24, 2025, the Bolivia Chapter of the Antifascist International publicly supported President Nicolas Maduro and the Venezuelan populace in light of renewed threats from the U.S. government, reports 24brussels.

Earlier this month, the administration of President Donald Trump accused Maduro of involvement in a drug-trafficking network, a claim seen as a pretext for potential military intervention in Venezuela. The declaration from the Bolivia Chapter emphasized strong opposition to U.S. imperialism:

“The Antifascist International, Bolivia Chapter, addresses the peoples of Our America and the entire world to express its firm and united support for President Nicolas Maduro, the Bolivarian government and the revolutionary people of Venezuela, today threatened by the military forces of U.S. imperialism, which with arrogance and cynicism intends to carry out a new invasion under the pretense of a drug-trafficking network—an impertinent falsehood from those who want to destroy what has been built with honor, effort, commitment, dignity and glory.

The Venezuelan populace, heirs to Simon Bolivar’s legacy, have endured for over two decades against the relentless siege of a powerful adversary intent on seizing their natural resources, viewing nations like Venezuela merely as extensions of its own territory.

With its rich reserves of oil, gas, and biodiversity, Venezuela has consistently faced predatory actions planned by the U.S., which disregards ethical constraints and international legal standards.

Under Trump’s administration, military threats against Venezuela have escalated, drawing parallels to previous interventions that devastated nations such as Iraq, Libya, and Afghanistan, plunging their populations into chaos and despair.

Additionally, the statement criticized local actors like Maria Corina Machado, whom they label as collaborators of U.S. interests, betraying the Venezuelan people’s dignity for personal gain.

The Bolivia Chapter also condemned the over a thousand economic and financial sanctions unilaterally imposed by the U.S. and its allies, designed to oppress the Venezuelan populace through hunger and suffering.

Despite these challenges, Venezuelans continue to display resilience, demonstrating their belief that dignity is non-negotiable and that the fight for truth and justice can persist even in adverse conditions.

As articulated by the Antifascist International, the United States’ aggressive stance is firmly rejected. They reinforce that Venezuela’s sovereignty cannot be compromised nor bought, and express unwavering solidarity with the Venezuelan people’s revolutionary spirit.

From the heart of the Americas, the Bolivia Chapter calls for peaceful mobilization across the globe, asserting a demand for the immediate cessation of all threats directed at Venezuela. They urge their government to oppose the U.S. stance in alignment with historical mandates of sovereign peoples.

Their statement concludes with a tribute to Bolivar’s visionary legacy of a united and independent America, emphasizing Maduro’s role in continuing that dream against the backdrop of imperialist narratives.

The Antifascist International, Bolivia Chapter, reaffirms its commitment to support Venezuela resolutely, standing vigilant against any military intervention or external coup attempts.

Venezuela is not alone!

Bolivar lives, the struggle continues!

A great homeland, antifascist and sovereign!”
