Politics UK Rises Amidst Changes in Social Media Landscape
Politics UK, a news aggregation account, has surged in popularity following the banning of its predecessor, Politics For All, in January 2022 for violating Twitter’s rules on “manipulation and spam,” reports 24brussels.
The closure of Politics For All opened a market niche for concise news updates aimed at engaged audiences. Under new ownership, the account, purchased by 17-year-old Nash-Gardner in June 2022, transitioned from posting sensationalist content to a more curated approach. With the recruitment of two former Politics For All team members in early 2023, the focus shifted to sharing shorter, more impactful stories.
As a result, Politics UK’s follower count skyrocketed from 30,000 in February 2023 to over 367,000 by August 2025. This growth reflects a keen interest in streamlined and reliable news among users navigating a crowded information landscape.
Nash-Gardner, who concurrently serves as the constituency office manager for Tory MP Andrew Rosindell, leads a volunteer team that sifts through news daily, collaborating over WhatsApp to refine their posts. Although they initially faced challenges under the previous regime, the new strategy emphasizes selectivity and engagement.
In addition to their growing follower base, the team monetizes the account through advertising revenue generated below posts and via a Patreon page that allows users to support extra content.
