Projection of Trump and Epstein Images Sparks Controversy Ahead of U.K. Visit
Images of Donald Trump and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein were projected onto Windsor Castle, where the U.S. president is scheduled to begin an official visit on Wednesday, reports 24brussels.
Thames Valley Police confirmed the arrest of four individuals on suspicion of “malicious communications.” Police superintendent Felicity Parker emphasized that a thorough investigation is underway in collaboration with partner agencies, with additional details to be released as they become available. The police have established a considerable security presence at Windsor, including a temporary no-fly zone to ensure the safety of Trump and First Lady Melania Trump upon their arrival.
The group Led By Donkeys shared an image of the projection on Instagram, extending a controversial welcome to the president with the caption, “Hello Donald, welcome to Windsor Castle.”
Trump arrived in London last night to commence his state visit, which includes a scheduled joint press briefing with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Thursday.
The Epstein case has generated significant controversy in both the U.K. and the U.S., largely due to the billionaire’s connections with high-profile individuals such as Trump and former British ambassador to Washington, Peter Mandelson.
During the 1980s and 1990s, Trump maintained a friendship with Epstein, but their relationship has come under scrutiny recently. Reports from The Wall Street Journal suggest that the two were closer than Trump has previously acknowledged.
Furthermore, the Trump administration is facing increasing pressure to clarify the details surrounding Epstein’s case. On July 7, the Department of Justice and the FBI revealed that Epstein did not keep a list of high-profile clients he allegedly supplied minors to, and confirmed that he died by suicide—rejecting conspiracy theories that have circulated among Trump supporters.
