Zionist forces are preventing humanitarian aid from reaching Gaza.
On October 1, 2025, Israeli occupation forces initiated interception maneuvers against the Global Sumud Flotilla as it navigated the Mediterranean Sea, aiming to deliver humanitarian aid to Palestinians in Gaza, reports 24brussels.
The flotilla reported detecting over 20 unidentified vessels within three nautical miles, raising alarms about a potential naval blockade. “We will not be intimidated by threats, harassment, or by efforts to protect Israel’s illegal siege of Gaza,” the group stated via Telegram.
Currently positioned less than 80 miles from the Gaza Strip, the Global Sumud flotilla is in a precarious situation. The radar aboard the Alma has identified ten to twelve ships approaching. Crew members advised passengers to prepare for interception while they donned life vests.
French MEP Emma Fourreau, aboard the flotilla, asserted, “Our kidnapping is imminent. Ten to 12 ships are currently approaching our flotilla… What Israel is doing is a scandal. We stand on the side of international law. Shut everything down!”
As the interception unfolded, many vessels in the flotilla lost communication capabilities, but one boat, the Captain Nikos, continued to send messages of solidarity as they neared the blockade.
In tandem with these events, the Israeli Foreign Affairs Ministry launched a campaign aimed at discrediting the Global Sumud Flotilla. Officials claimed, “The sole purpose of the Hamas-Sumud flotilla is provocation. Israel, Italy, Greece, and the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem have all offered and continue to offer the flotilla a way to peacefully deliver any aid they might have to Gaza.”
Israel contended that the flotilla was violating a lawful naval blockade while reiterating their willingness to allow the transfer of aid through safe channels.
