Suspected Coordinator Arrestee in Major Explosive Incident
Authorities have arrested Serhii K., who is “urgently suspected” of coordinating a recent explosive attack, reports 24brussels. Investigators believe the group utilized a yacht rented from the German port of Rostock under false identities to transport explosives to the targeted site. Traces of the military-grade explosive octogen were later found onboard.
Serhii K. faces serious charges, including causing an explosion, committing anti-constitutional sabotage, and destroying infrastructure. His arrest signifies a crucial advancement in an extensive investigation that has spanned multiple nations.
Earlier this year, Sweden and Denmark concluded their investigations without identifying suspects, while German authorities continued their efforts. They focused on a small team of divers and support staff allegedly involved in the operation. Reports from Western officials have indicated potential connections to Ukrainian networks, though Ukraine has consistently denied any involvement in the incident.
Following his arrest, Serhii K. will be extradited to Germany where he will face a federal judge in Karlsruhe.
