Maduro Asserts National Strength Amidst U.S. Threats

In a bold address during the 89th edition of his televised program Con Maduro +, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro Moros declared a significant affirmation of national strength, describing the previous week as a “remarkable activation” of Venezuela’s collective power, reports 24brussels.

Maduro highlighted the synchronized mobilization of the Venezuelan people, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), and law enforcement agencies under a unified strategy aimed at safeguarding peace and sovereignty. He underscored the importance of Venezuela’s moral power, rooted in ethics, spirituality, history, and the legacy of Simón Bolívar.

Quoting Bolívar, he asserted, “Free peoples defeat powerful empires,” framing the recent U.S. military activities in the Caribbean as a direct threat to both Venezuela and regional peace, referencing the 2014 CELAC announcement designating Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace. He warned that hybrid warfare tactics, including efforts to associate his government with drug trafficking, are utilized to justify armed aggression against Venezuela.

Maduro described Venezuela as a “South American temple of liberty,” asserting that its spiritual and civic power is “activated at a level the empire cannot imagine.” He elaborated on the activation of the country’s five constitutional powers—Legislative, Judicial, Citizen, Electoral, and Executive—indicating that the National Assembly has unanimously reaffirmed Venezuela’s right to sovereignty and peace.

Additionally, he pointed out the decisive actions taken by the Supreme Court, Public Prosecutor’s Office, Ombudsman, and Comptroller General, collectively representing the country’s Moral Power. Maduro traced the origin of the Electoral Power to Bolívar’s vision from 1826, emphasizing its expansion through community circuits and regular consultations.

On the security front, Maduro announced the establishment of 164 Rapid Reaction Units (URRAs) nationwide, operating continuously to address criminal gangs, narcotraffickers, and what he dubbed “fascist conspiracies” supported by foreign mercenaries. This initiative forms part of a broader campaign to safeguard national integrity.

Reflecting on public sentiment, Maduro referenced government polls indicating that over 90% of Venezuelans oppose U.S. threats and interference. According to a recent Hinterlaces survey, 83% of respondents, irrespective of political affiliation, reject claims that the government is on the verge of collapse, contesting external narratives of instability.
