Trump Interrupts Speech as Arab Legislators Ejected

During a recent address, former U.S. President Donald Trump had to pause his speech as security personnel forcibly removed two Arab legislators from the room, reports 24brussels.

The legislators, Ayman Odeh, leader of the Hadash party, and Ofer Cassif, the only Jewish member of the Arab party, were advocating for the recognition of Palestine when they were ejected, according to reports.

As the disturbance occurred and the legislators were escorted out, Trump quipped, “They were efficient,” before continuing with his remarks.

Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised Trump as the “best friend the State of Israel has ever had in the White House.” Netanyahu highlighted the significance of Trump’s visit, marking it as the former president’s first trip since the U.S. recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and relocated the U.S. embassy there—a point of contention for Palestinians.

Trump’s visit to the Middle East follows his announcement of a U.S.-brokered ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, aimed at facilitating a peace agreement concerning Gaza. The former president arrived in Israel on the eve of the summit.

After addressing Israeli leaders, Trump proceeded to Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, for the Middle East Peace Ceremony, where nearly twenty world leaders are expected to formalize the Gaza peace agreement and discuss future diplomatic efforts.
