Trump’s Links to Epstein Under Scrutiny Amid Political Turmoil
The leader of the Reform Party and longtime Trump ally stated he has never discussed Jeffrey Epstein with the former U.S. president, but remarked, “I think this is one area where Donald has sort of put himself into conflict with much of his own base,” reports 24brussels.
Farage noted that if he had been born a decade earlier, he might have encountered Epstein, highlighting the social circles they shared. “Had I been 10 years older, I would have done, because they were the circles …” he added.
The Wall Street Journal reported that in May, Trump was informed by his attorney general, Pam Bondi, that his name appeared in files associated with investigations into Epstein.
Trump had a friendship with Epstein during the 1990s and early 2000s but has not faced any allegations of wrongdoing related to Epstein’s activities.
According to Trump, their relationship soured in the early 2000s, two years before Epstein’s initial arrest. The White House has suggested that their fallout was related to Epstein’s behavior, indicating that “the president kicked him out of his club for being a creep.”
However, Trump stated on Tuesday that the relationship deteriorated when Epstein “stole” young women from his Mar-a-Lago beach club spa several decades ago.
This situation continues to present challenges for the U.S. administration. The fallout from Trump’s handling of the Epstein files has created divisions among House Republicans, resulting in Speaker Mike Johnson needing to adjourn the chamber early last week.
