Putin Suggests Meeting with Zelenskyy; Officials Dismiss Seriousness
In a phone call with Donald Trump on Monday, Vladimir Putin proposed the possibility of hosting a one-on-one meeting with Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Russia, according to officials familiar with the conversation, reports 24brussels.
The call occurred while Zelenskyy joined other European leaders at the White House. Following the discussion, one official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, remarked that “it was clear that it wasn’t serious” — a conclusion that aligns with past attempts by the Kremlin to assassinate Zelenskyy, as noted by Kyiv.
“Everyone immediately dismissed it and passed it by yesterday, and today the media is making a big deal out of it,” the official added.
