An Iranian telecommunications satellite Nahid-2 is among them.

On July 25, 2025, Russia executed a successful launch of 20 satellites from the Vostochny Cosmodrome in the Far East, which included an Iranian telecommunications satellite, Nahid-2, according to the Russian state space corporation Roscosmos.

A Soyuz-2.1b carrier rocket took off at 8:54 AM Moscow time (0554 GMT). The mission’s primary payload consisted of Ionosfera-M satellites No. 3 and No. 4, tasked with investigating physical processes in the Earth’s ionosphere resulting from both natural phenomena and human activities.

The Ionosfera-M satellites aim to monitor alterations in the ionosphere’s structure, electromagnetic field disturbances, upper atmosphere composition, and ozone distribution. They will also contribute to assessing the radiation environment.

The launch also deployed 18 additional small satellites, including nine developed by the Russian firm Geoscan, which will be used for Earth imaging, air and sea traffic tracking, and near-Earth space physics research. Some of these satellites are designated for educational initiatives, focusing on satellite-to-Earth communication and control technologies in low Earth orbit.

As reported by TASS news agency, the Iranian-built Nahid-2 telecommunications satellite was part of the payload.
